BLINC Meeting - Discuss NC LIVE Resources
The information resources available through NC LIVE are indispensable for business librarians here in North Carolina, at both public and academic libraries.
NC LIVE's Resource Advisory Committee has always valued BLINC's expert advice on which business-oriented resources should be included in NC LIVE, and has asked BLINC for guidance on:
(1) the most important categories of business-related content for NC LIVE to provide and
(2) a ranking of databases in each category.
BLINC will be meeting in Greensboro, at UNC-G's Walter Clinton Jackson Library, on Wednesday, December 14th, to work out a slate of recommendations to submit the NC LIVE Resource Advisory Committee.
Is there an NC LIVE resource that you just can't live without? Is there a database that you think deserves to have a place in the NC LIVE package? Come to the upcoming BLINC meeting, and make your case for its renewal, or its inclusion!
Also in the news, this year NCLA is giving its sections and round tables direct responsibility for selecting and "vetting" some of the presentations to be given at the 2017 conference's concurrent sessions. BLINC needs to determine how many presentations it will be offering, and what topics will be covered. Would you like to speak at the upcoming NCLA conference, or is there a topic you think BLINC should find a speaker to address? Planning BLINC's contribution to the 2017 conference will be on the agenda as well.
The program will begin at 10:00 am, with networking and morning snacks beginning at 9:30 am. We will end at 3:00 pm. The coffee shop in the connected student union should be open. We will have lunch at nearby Tate Street, with many restaurant choices (including vegetarian). Free parking on campus at the Walker parking deck (1361 Walker Avenue Greensboro).
