NCLA Technology and Trends section presents a panel devoted to a question that is on many librarians minds: If we are told to reopen, how do we even begin to make the plans to keep patrons and staff safe? In this panel, panelists from community college, university, and public libraries will discuss general reopening planning: what factors they considered, how they decided to reopen, and the process they went through in order to put together a comprehensive plan. Our focus will be on special considerations around technology. We will consider questions around how we can safely allow patrons access to necessary technology (such as computer access and printing), how technology can help us connect in person patrons to remote working librarians, and areas that technology has failed in terms of reopening considerations. We hope you will join us on October 8th at 11 AM!
