Joint STEM-LINC & NCSLA March 2017 Spring Meeting

STEM Librarians in North Carolina and the NC Chapter of the Special Libraries Association will be meeting together on Friday, March 10, 2017. We will meet at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in RTP. Parking is free, as is attendance at the meeting.
 
9:00-9:30am                           Arrival, coffee, and networking
9:30-10:00am                         Introductions and updates
10:00-10:20am                       Business meeting
10:20-10:30am                       Break
10:30-11:30am                       Erin and Susan about the EPA, the NIEHS, and their libraries
11:30am-12:15pm                 Lunch on the campus (est. $6-10)
12:15-1:30pm                         Community science at the EPA; community activities and a tour of the NIEHS
1:30-2:00pm                           Break and networking
2:00-3:30pm                           NC SLA: What is NC SLA, and what do STEM special libraries do?
                  Time permitting: STEM small businesses, start-ups, tech transfer, etc.
 
This is a great way to see how libraries work with science professionals and support sci-tech research and innovation in NC and nationally.
Because we are meeting at one of the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences, all attendees must RSVP/register in advance. Attendance is free and open to anyone, but you must be on the registered attendee list or they will not let you in at the NIEHS. Serious government science stuff is happening!
