Welcome to the North Carolina Library Association (NCLA)!  Our purpose is to promote libraries, library and information services, librarianship, intellectual freedom and literacy.

Here are some things we are doing:

Dear Members of the North Carolina Library Association,
Over the past biennium, your NCLA Executive Board adopted four initiatives to work on and strengthen the association.  Those initiatives were in the areas of technology, member engagement, organization audit, and alternative revenue sources.  These initiatives have resulted in recommendations and changes, some of which require a vote by the membership.  Linked below, you will find motions being proposed by the Executive Board, which will cause changes to the Association’s constitution and bylaws.  I will call for a vote on these motions during the Business Meeting that happens during the last general session of the 2017 Biennial Conference.  In accordance with our bylaws, you are receiving these a month in advance of the vote.  More information about the initiatives will be forthcoming at Business Meeting of the Conference.
I look forward to seeing you in October in Winston-Salem!

Read the motions.

Please check the conference website for the most up-to-date news regarding our 62nd Biennial Conference
