The Town of Southern Pines Public Library seeks a knowledgeable and energetic librarian with a strong technical background and a commitment to excellent service to oversee the operation of all library automated and digital services. These include the ILS, print management and reservation systems, and electronic resources. The position provides training in new technologies and assistance in the use of computers, equipment, and software to both patrons and staff. Work encompasses other professional responsibilities such as cataloging of e-resources, collection development, and public services, as scheduled. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with other employees, vendors, library users, and the general public is essential. Master’s degree in Library Science or in Information Science from ALA-accredited school, and experience overseeing library automation systems, supporting information technology systems, and managing digital resource collections in a library are required. Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license with an excellent driving record. Minimum annualized salary is $40,083 and may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
