Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
◾Leadership / management experience in a community college setting
◾Proficient with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel
◾Excellent diplomatic, negotiation, and collaboration skills
◾Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
◾Proficient in data analysis used for decision making
◾Intermediate proficiency with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel
◾Knowledge of automated library systems and other standard library hardware
◾Functional knowledge of public services, reference, technical services
◾Knowledge of a full range of library procedures and routine processes
◾Ability to teach library bibliographic instruction and information literacy concepts to new students

◾ALA Accredited Master’s degree in Library or Information Science
◾Five years’ experience working in a library
◾Three years supervisory experience

◾Provides leadership and supervision for division staff
◾Projects needs and secures staff, supplies, equipment, and facilities for the division
◾Manages budget allotments and requisitions of future funds
◾Continuously enhances the quality of resources and increases operational efficiency within the libraries
◾Develops relevant institutional effectiveness goals for the division
◾Assists in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of division staff
◾Plans and conducts regular division meetings
◾Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
◾Manages division information by: gathering, organizing, and archiving information related to division personnel, programs, services, and resources
◾Guides the use and dissemination of division information
◾Analyzes and utilizes information for planning, budgeting, reporting, and related activities
◾Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
