We are looking for a creative but organized individual who can create events and experiences for adults inside and out of our libraries as a part of our award-winning Outreach and Program Services Department.

Under limited supervision, serves as coordinator of the specialized area Adult Programming as a part of the Outreach and Program Services Department. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating the assigned area and ensures that all services are in alignment with the library's strategic goals and are implemented effectively. Responsible for working with other programming staff to develop events and classes to serve adults of all interests and needs throughout Suffolk. Establishes standards for services and collections, researches and formulates long range goals, develops guidelines and procedures, and plans initiatives to meet community needs. Reports to the Outreach and Program Services Manager.


A combination of higher education and/or experience equivalent to 7 years, 3 of which must have been in the specific specialized area of the position, a library setting, or closely related field and 1 -2 of which contained supervisory responsibilities; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Requires a valid driver's license.

$18.46 per hour
29 hours per week
